We’ve been working on a lot of things with Runway and one of them is lots of Extensions to help you extend and customize the functionality of your themes. Here’s a quick list of some of the extensions we’ll be adding to the repository soon if not there already.
Admin Menu Editor – Lets you create, edit and remove items from the WP admin menus.
Contact Fields – A contact form builder with custom input management.
Content Types – Build custom post types, taxonomies and meta fields for your themes using a simple user interface. This let’s you turn your theme into a customized content management tool for your client instead of being just a blog.
Custom Branding – Add your logos, branding and UI elements to the WP admin interface to custom brand it for your customers.
Help Tabs – Add your own help details to any options page using the WP “screen options” tabs. Make your sites easier to use and reduce support by making information easily available to users directly form the admin area of their site.
Layout Manager – Integrate the custom layout builder seen in Parallelus themes directly into your theme. Manage the layouts with an easy drag and drop interface. Apply layouts to pages, posts, post types and other uses for simple granular control of your sites layouts.
Plugin Installer – Integrate required plugins into your theme to install when the theme is activated. Build from the popular TGM Plugin Activation Class.
Custom Sidebars – Generate sidebars and include them in your template or with shortcodes.
Sync Tool – Synchronize your WordPress installs. Easily migrate a site from development to live by running the Sync Tool extension. Push your local development to the live server with one click. No more messing with database tables, changing URL’s or other repetitive tasks. Keep sites synchronized in both directions, one-way or on demand as you choose. Sync as many sites as you need, specify the exact parts you do and don’t want to keep up to date for easy control and faster development.
And that’s just the beginning! This is what is already in development but there will be a lot more so stay posted.
Tell us your thoughts, suggestions and recommendations for Extension development and improvement. We’re interested in what you want to do with your Runway site.June 25, 2013 at 8:51 pm #208
